Troy Andrew Pilewski supports the Department of the Navy with over a decade of experience in Information Technology with a strong military background. He currently has a focus on Enterprise Network and Systems Engineering Solutions for the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific supporting the Naval Warfighter either at sea or ashore. His career began with Recruit Training from March 2004 to June 2004 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. He then went on to Marine Combat Training from June 2004 to July 2004 at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Troy Pilewski became a Student from August 2004 to September 2004 at the Marine Corps Communication-Electronics School located onboard Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twenty-Nine Palms, California. In August of 2004, he was promoted to the rank of Private First Class and graduated. Troy Pilewski then served as a Network and Computer Systems Administrator for Communications Company, Combat Logistic Regiment 27 (CLR-27) from October 2004 to February 2009 on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He gained valuable firsthand knowledge of Network and Computer Systems installation, configuration and support of Marine Corps tactical networks. Before his deployment in December of 2004, he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. Troy Pilewski completed his first deployment to Camp Al Taqaddum Airbase in Iraq from February 2005 to September 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Upon his return, Troy Pilewski expanded his knowledge of Network and Computer Systems by taking part in the fielding of the Logistical Support Wide Area Network (L-SWAN) Ku-Band Satellite transmission communications. This further increased the capability of communications support and readiness for the unit. In April 2006, he was promoted to the rank or Corporal. Supporting the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, he completed his second deployment to Iraq as part of a Military Transition Team. During this deployment, he trained the 7th Division Iraqi Army how to stand up, run and support a division sized element from February 2007 to November 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in April 2008. Upon his promotion, he was assigned the billet as the Marine Corps Integrated Maintenance Management System (MIMMS) Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). Troy Pilewski executed a permanent change of station from North Carolina to California to serve as a Computer Network Support Specialists for Headquarters and Headquarters Support Squadron (H&HS) from February 2009 to March 2012 on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California. He held billets as the Training Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), Information Technology Purchase Request Approval System (ITPRAS) Coordinator and Site SharePoint Administrator. Through the use of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), he automated the training, tracking and reporting of the assigned Marines under his charge. He has also supported the influx of over 750,000 civilian spectators for the annual Marine Corps Airshow. He was selected for promotion to the rank of Staff Sergeant in September 2011. Troy Pilewski transitioned to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California and was assigned to 9th Communication Battalion from March 2012 to August 2014. While assigned to 9th Communication Battalion, he served as a Network and Computer Systems Administrator with "A" Company from March 2012 to June 2012. In June 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant where he was assigned the billet of Computer and Information Systems Manager from June 2012 to September 2013. He then executed a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) - Afghanistan on Camp Leatherneck from June 2012 to November 2012. Upon his return, he was assigned to Support Company until the return of the rest of his unit. He executed a Battalion Change Order (BCO) to transition from "A" Company to "C" Company where he served as the Information Technology Project Manager from September 2013 to August 2014. He was involved in developing more efficient ways of tracking the operational status of the units assigned personnel and equipment. He also produced cost saving documentation which standardized Holiday Accident Reduction Program (HARP) form electronically via Adobe Acrobat. Troy Pilewski ended his active duty career and transitioned into the Marine Corps Reserve serving as the Computer and Information Systems Manager for 1st Marine Division (1stMARDIV) Staff. He also began work to start a civilian life where he undertook a position as a government contractor for American Systems supporting the Space and Naval Warfare Center as an Information Security Analysts from July 2014 to October 2015 in San Diego, California. There he was contributory in developing automated ways to assess the Cyber Hygiene of the afloat platforms and their associated networks through the analysis of their Vulnerability Scan data. He transitioned companies but continued as a Senior Analyst Information Security for General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) from October 2015 to September 2016 in San Diego, California. Due to a loss in contracting, Troy Pilewski took another position as a government contractor for StraCon supporting the Commander, Naval Surface Force Pacific (COMNAVSURFPAC) as SharePoint Technical Web Architect from December 2016 to July 2018 on the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, California. He was the leading effort in generating custom content and rebranding the unit�s public webpages. He also supported the subordinate commands. He then transitioned into a Computer Systems Engineers for Joint Tactics Technologies (JTT) supporting the SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific (SSC Pacific) from August 2018 to April 2019 on Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, California. He was partly responsible for the automation of validating the addition and deletions from the Standard Naval Distribution List (SNDL) from month to month. He was very useful in developing a copy and paste method in which the Vulnerabilities per Asset could automatically be calculated. Troy Pilewski recently joined the ranks of the Department of the Navy as a Federal Service Civilian Employee as a Computer Network Architects supporting the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific on Naval Base Point Loma, San Diego, California. He supports the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communication System (JWICS) project.
